Surface: Supplied by the student – shop your stash. I will be painting on a 8” x 10” canvas but design is adaptable and can be painted on a variety of surfaces – be creative! Pattern can be enlarged but don't recommend reducing the design.
PREP BEFORE CLASS – if using wood surface, sand and seal before painting. Basecoat with Williamsburg Blue (DecoArt Americana) or another medium blue of your choice.
Paint will be supplied for class.
Brushes:
1/4” angle shader
1/2” rake or comb, filbert or flat shape
0 liner or one that you like that makes long, skinny comma strokes
1 or 2 round
small round scruffy brush (to dry brush on lettering)
Supplies: Usual acrylic supplies, dark and light graphite paper, sea sponge to sponge background and edges, makeup sponge to stencil chicken wire on background (if desired, this is optional), chicken wire
stencil (optional, I have one that I will share), blow dryer or heat gun. As always bring a battery operated light as lighting is poor.
