MTA EVENTS

MTA hosts several special events throughout the year.  We host seminars with national teachers or local teachers held in either the spring or fall.  We also host an annual Christmas party as well as our biggest event, our annual retreat.  Below is a bit of info on the fun that we have in our painting group each year.  

2027 RETREAT INFORMATION

This is an important update regarding our 2027 MTA Retreat. 

PLEASE READ!!!

It has come to our attention that the phone number listed in the September/October newsletter for the Holiday Inn in Manchester is incorrect.  The correct number is 931-728-9383.  There was also a snafu with the dates of retreat at the conference center being double booked.  The new dates for our 2027 MTA retreat will be February 25-28, 2027.  Please mark your calendars with this new date.  Also, please call the hotel if you have already made reservations and make sure that your dates got changed correctly and that you receive a new confirmation email.  If you have any questions please contact retreat chairperson Benita Rhodes.  Thank you!!

 

MTA CHRISTMAS PARTY

"HERE COMES SANTA CLAUS"  

 

Please join us on November 21, 2026 for our annual MTA Christmas party.  We will be playing a few games of bingo, having lots of fun prizes, a yummy lunch catered by Larry Lyons and our annual ornament exchange.

If you plan to attend and would like to participate in the ornament exchange, please bring a hand painted ornament (Christmas themed) wrapped and ready to go. 

Menu for our Christmas party will be: Chicken Fried Chicken with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Carrot Souffle, Rolls, Peach & BlueBerry Cobbler.  Price will be $22.00

We hope to see you all there.  Christmas Party will be held at First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro.

 

 

MIDDLE TENNESSEE ARTISTS 2026 RETREAT

MTA hosts our biggest event being our annual painting retreat.  Our members spend 4 days together painting, taking classes and having wonderful meals and fellowship.  The 2026 retreat will be held from February 26 - March 1 at the Coffee County Conference Center in Manchester, TN. 

The conference center is attached to the Holiday Inn which is where our attendees stay for the duration of the retreat.  (Holiday Inn info is in brochure under events tab)  You never have to go outside unless you want to. 

Our 2026 retreat is coming up soon.  Head over to the EVENT tab and click on RETREAT 2026 for a look at the brochure and all the classes that will be offered.  Once you have decided you would like to attend, please head to the PAYMENT CENTER, fill out the registration form then click submit.  Once you have done that, please choose what days you would like to attend, special diet and/or sales table then go to the shopping cart and pay for your selections.

One of our special events held annually is our Christmas party.  Our theme this year is O' Christmas Tree.  We gather at our meeting place in November and have our bi-monthly meeting.  This is a very busy meeting as we have alot going on.  At this meeting we induct our board members for the coming year.  We hand out our retreat brochure which everyone has been anticipating for a few months.  All of the class projects are on display and it's so fun to see them all in person.  Then the fun begins. 

Bring on the bingo games and win fun prizes while we wait for our lunch to be delivered. Our lunch is made special for us by Larry's Creations of Murfreesboro.  Larry and his crew of awesome ladies deliver a lovely lunch that we special order.  It is always a wonderful meal. 

Then we have the most fun part of the day, in my opinion, our Christmas ornament exchange.  If you paint and bring an ornament, you will receive an ornament.  It is so fun to see all the lovely Christmas ornaments painted by our members.  It's also a fun surprise because you don't see what you are getting or who they are from as they are wrapped or in their own special gift bag just waiting to be opened by their new recipient.  I don't know about anyone else but my Christmas tree is filled with mostly hand painted ornaments from many members, past and present, of our wonderful group of painters.  I hope you all are looking forward to our party that is on November 15, 2025.  Hope to see you all there!!!
